SPOILER: I actually like this game a lot, yet I feel like ranting about some of the things in BC2 that are bugging me and/or just plain ol pissing me off.
Server Browser: This one is a gimme. It sucks. It blows. It isn't worth a dime. It takes forever to load my Favorites and History, which is stupid cause there are usually only 5 or 6 in there. If the stars were to align with this game, it would use the Steam server browser. (From what I understood, most BF games have bad server browsers anyway. I blame EA.)
Knifing: I have never understood why all FPS games have to make your melee attack a knife. It doesn't make much sense. If I was sneaking up on someone with their back to me and they havn't noticed that I am there, then maybe pulling out a knife and getting your stab on would be a good idea. But if you are in a close situation with an enemy, wouldn't it make more sense to just hit them with the butt of your gun? I'm no combat expert or anything like that, but it just makes sense to me.
Useless Recons: I am sure you have seen these guys in a game before. Like 5 recons on the same hilltop, sniping (poorly) at enemies and not spotting them out. A lot of them even ignore the MCom/Control Point that is a few feet away from them, which gives me so much internet rage. Also, they have what is probably one of the best gadgets in the game, the Motion Sensor, which I hardly ever see any recons use.
Useless Players Overall: People that don't spot, Assaults that don't drop ammo, (exempt if you are Rank 1 with them), same with Medics, etc.
Bad Helicopter Pilots and Gunners: If you don't know how to fly a heli, don't get in the pilot seat! Yes, I understand that not everyone has flown one and that they must learn someday, but it isn't really that hard. Same thing goes for the gunners. The Apache's gun can kill infantry in 2 hits usually. If you are gunning, it is a good idea to do that, instead of waiting till you see heavy armor, as the gun isn't as good against that. The Black Hawks minigun, on the other hand, tears up both infantry AND heavy armor, use it on everything you see.
Horrible Single Player: I played BC1 and I thought that the single player wasn't that bad. Sure it was a little confusing with it's openworldness and unable to die squadmates, but it had a fun story akin to Kelly's Heroes, (which is an awesome WWII movie). The campaign in BC2 just drops all the good stuff in BC1, and replaces it with the linearity of the Call of Duty series, (which it pretty much parody's the whole time). While this made for more intense gameplay, the story became super serious, with it's typical "Russians are killing everyone" scenario. Yea the humor is still there, but it just isn't as fun.
Language: "AH SHIT THOSE MOTHERFUCKERS ARE FUCKING COMING RIGHT FUCKING AT US JESUS CHRIST SHIT SON OF A BITCH SHIT PISS!" Why so much language? I can see if someone yells "OH SHIT! TANNNNNKKKKK!!!!", but to me, the language is just excessive. At least make it optional, so I can play the game at normal volume levels.
Chat Filter: So, the characters can speak dirtier than the average HBO show, but I can't type "damn" or "ass" without it being censored? Are you kidding me? Like with the language, make it optional.
EA: FUCK YOU EA YOU NEVER DO ANYTHING RIGHT I HAD TO WAIT LIKE A MONTH JUST TO GET SOME DAMN SERIAL CODES THAT DIDN'T WORK WITH MY COPY OF C&C: FIRST DECADE GOD I HATE YOU SO MUCH but at least you are better than Activision.
